Job OverviewThe Local Authority Sales Manager is crucial in cultivating partnerships and driving business expansion within the Local Authority sector.
This role encompasses the development and execution of strategies aimed at establishing, nurturing, and enhancing relationships with key stakeholders in Local Authorities and Support Partners.
The primary objective is to advocate for the advantages of collective procurement, facilitate the formation of larger contracts, and ultimately boost revenue and sales growth.
The Local Authority Sales Manager will also lead a team of four Business Development Managers focused on Local Authorities.
Key Responsibilities- Manage daily objectives and operations of the Local Authority Business Development team, serving as the primary point of contact.
- Supervise incoming leads, ensuring they are promptly followed up and driven to completion by the team.
- Identify training needs and provide coaching and support as necessary.
- Ensure Business Development Managers adhere to the Bromcom sales process, including documenting all activities in the CRM system.
- Own and achieve the sales targets for the Local Authority team by creating and implementing a strategic sales plan.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within Local Authorities.
- Leverage existing connections and strategic approaches to enhance Bromcom's reputation in targeted areas.
- Define commercial agreements between Bromcom and various Support Units, ensuring clarity and representation on relevant public platforms.
- Maintain an updated list of support partners, accreditations, and agreements.
- Drive engagement with Support Units through relevant Business Development Managers.
- Conduct regular internal meetings to ensure effective activities and value from all partner relationships.
- Collaborate with School by School and Multi-Academy Trust teams to convert Local Authority leads into actionable opportunities.
- Identify avenues for engagement at the Local Authority level to facilitate larger deals.
- Assist in the preparation of presentations and demonstrations tailored for Local Authority discussions.
- Work with the Marketing Team to distribute materials to schools and Local Authorities, following up to arrange calls and demonstrations.
- Lead sales forecasting meetings to present a robust pipeline of appointments aligned with targets.
- Oversee the production of weekly, quarterly, and annual sales reports.
- Commit to achieving and maintaining best practice performance and sales standards.
- Stay informed about industry trends and engage in continuous learning to enhance expertise in the field.
- Proven knowledge and experience in the education sector, particularly with Local Authorities and market trends.
