Energy Risk Modeler

At SmartestEnergy, we're seeking a skilled Energy Risk Modeler to join our team. As a key member of our Market Risk team, you'll play a critical role in developing and implementing complex models to price and manage risk in our energy trading business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain proprietary and off-the-shelf models for pricing complex energy products
  • Collaborate with Market Risk to recognize and validate model output
  • Support the development of risk management infrastructure and deal life cycle processes
  • Provide cover for Market Risk teams during absences, including daily reporting and price loads
Requirements:
  • Exposure in an energy trading environment, with experience in Risk Management
  • Solid knowledge of physical and financial energy markets, and risk management in the energy trading industry
  • Strong quantitative and programmatic skills, including Excel, VBA, SQL, Python, and R
  • Solid knowledge of commodity physical business, including market risks and deal representation in ETRM systems
