Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Systems Engineer to join our team at Human Engineering. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions for our clients in the offshore, ports, and shipping industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of technical proposals and tenders for automation projects.
  • Conduct site surveys and provide technical support for electrical, PLC, and drive systems.
  • Develop and implement automation project documentation and certification packages.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement electrical and PLC systems for onshore and offshore cranes and lifting equipment.
  • Lead installation projects, liaising between engineers and subcontractors.
  • Perform initial commissioning of projects, including I/O checks and power on checks.
  • Prepare work-packs and other documentation.
  • Manage technical and commercial aspects of projects.
  • Familiarize yourself with client and company HSEQ policies and procedures.
  • Identify safe and environmentally sound methods of work and systems.
  • Plan, organize, and document client work processes to deliver the required standard with minimum risk.
  • Provide precise instructions to implement safe methods of work and pre-defined communication lines.
  • Encourage personnel to develop an acceptable safety and environmental culture.
  • Act immediately on any breach of company rules and report to line management.
  • Provide project management and engineering support for offshore crane repairs, refurbishment, operation, and maintenance.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Knowledge and experience of programming Siemens PLCs – Step 5, Step 7 & TIA Portal.
  • Good working knowledge of Siemens Drives – MasterDrives, Micromasters & Sinamics.
  • Knowledge of VFD/VSD drives and their interaction with PLCs.
  • Experience and knowledge of SCADA systems.
  • Strong managerial and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work without supervision.
  • Methodical and dynamic approach.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Onshore or offshore crane and lifting experience preferred.
  • Good understanding of HSEQ requirements offshore.
  • Sound IT skills, MS Project, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience of maintenance of electrical, PLC & Drive systems.
