Job Summary:

We are excited to be supporting an established engineering business in Widnes with their requirement for a Project Design Engineer. This role is a key hire for the business and will enable the management structure to continue with growth and onboarding of new clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and prepare layout drawings, fabrication drawings, and general arrangement drawings to cover all aspects of steelwork and associated works.
  • Liaise with clients, engineering management, and attend site meetings to ensure requirements are maintained and achieved.
  • Prepare risk assessments and method statements.
  • Purchase materials from suppliers and manage budgets for project plans.
  • Prepare quotations from customer enquiries in line with client pricing models.
  • Provide support to the engineering department and its other disciplines.

Requirements:

  • A full UK driving license is essential.
  • Auto Cad/Sollid Works or similar experience is required.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on work experience is necessary.
  • Time-served across an engineering discipline and able to understand other areas of the workshop environment.
  • IT literacy is required.
  • Able to multitask and enjoy a variable workday.
