Housing Services Transformation Lead

The Housing Services Transformation Lead will be instrumental in directing and executing strategic initiatives focused on enhancing housing services within the local authority.


This role involves spearheading transformational projects, ensuring they align with organizational goals, and fostering innovation to improve housing availability, affordability, and quality for residents.

The position reports directly to the Strategic Director of Environment Housing and Neighbourhoods and is tasked with overseeing significant organizational change within housing services while also managing daily housing operations, which include:


Key Responsibilities:


The Council is currently evaluating its housing services to identify potential savings and efficiencies through structural and organizational modifications.

It has been decided to reintegrate housing and homelessness services previously managed by the Council's LATC back into the Council's operations. The Transformation Lead will oversee this transition with the assistance of internal project management personnel.


Daily management of teams responsible for:
- The Refugee Resettlement Team
- Housing Strategy and Commissioning, including leading the collaboration with:
- The Council's housing ALMO
- The LATC responsible for the Council's homelessness functions
- The Council's property development company

Work Environment:

This role will be situated at the Council's civic offices. However, flexible working arrangements are available, with in-person attendance typically required at least two days a week. There may also be occasional evening meetings, particularly for Council committees.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

Qualifications (Desirable):


A bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as Housing Studies, Urban Planning, Public Administration, or Business Management. Additional qualifications or certifications in project management, change management, or housing policy are also advantageous.


Experience:
Demonstrated experience (minimum of 5 years) in housing management, preferably within a local government context.
