Job Title: Assistant Headteacher/SENDCo

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Headteacher/SENDCo to join our team at ARC Group. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience of our students.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of pupil timetables, ensuring that EHCP outcomes are being met. You will also mentor and evaluate teaching staff, ensuring that CPD is targeted and delivered, with whole school priorities being worked towards.

As a SENDCo, you will lead the coordination of provision, ensuring that all policies, practices, and advice from external practitioners are implemented in a timely manner.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school's SEND provision across school
  • Participate in curriculum and management planning meetings, working with colleagues, parents, and other agencies
  • Ensure compliance with SEND legislation and policies
  • Work on curriculum and pupil development to secure improved outcomes
  • Provide cover in unforeseen circumstances
  • Support and guide parents, carers, and external professionals in managing personalised learning plans
Requirements:
  • Qualified teacher status and ability to meet the needs of SEND pupils
  • SENCO qualification
  • NPQ Award
  • Experience of leading subjects and teams
  • Ability to effectively manage behaviour and adapt to changing situations
  • Experience of working with children with SEN and knowledge of how they learn
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work at a high level of organisation
  • Experience of Ofsted Inspections and knowledge of safeguarding children
  • Knowledge of the Independent School Standards and EHCP reviews
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
  • Experience in leading CPD and Personal Education Plans (PEP)
