In alignment with the UK MOD P8 contract, Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) seeks a Technical Support Services Engineer to join the P8 Poseidon MRA1 CAMO Support Team. This role is pivotal in delivering Military Aviation Authority Regulatory Publication (MRP) compliant assistance to the P8 Military Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (Mil CAMO).
The successful applicant will work closely with the P8 Lead CAMO Engineer and the British Royal Air Force P8 Mil CAM, focusing on CAMO activities related to the aircraft systems managed by BDUK RAF Lossiemouth. This includes support for Maritime Surveillance, maintenance, modifications, and flight testing associated with the P8 contracted services.
Key Responsibilities:
This position reports to the BDUK P8 CAMO Lead Engineer and the BDUK multi-platform Part M Manager, and is responsible for:
- Providing technical assistance for Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations or urgent technical challenges.
- Managing recurring defects to minimize operational interruptions.
- Monitoring operational reliability to identify and address emerging technical concerns.
- Overseeing deferred defect levels and managing outsourced defect management to meet service standards and objectives.
- Conducting extensive technical investigations and implementing corrective measures.
- Supporting fleet configuration, modification, and repair strategies.
- Facilitating end-to-end repair processes.
- Assisting in the generation of SIs, RTIs, UTIs, and CAMO Technical Instructions.
- Enhancing the processing of unsatisfactory features reports through continuous improvement.
- Reviewing and recommending TAA authorization deviation requests from approved technical documentation.
- Addressing continuing airworthiness management requirements daily and participating in relevant local Mil CAMO meetings.
- Contributing to the development and enhancement of continuing airworthiness processes.
- Assisting in the creation of Continuing Airworthiness Management metrics and dashboards for effective management and performance monitoring.
- Supporting MAA Audits.
- Ensuring proper utilization of the Safety Management System and Quality Management System, aiding in internal and external Quality Assurance Audits and associated Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) plans.
Essential Qualifications:
- Education: UK HND or higher, or international equivalent, or relevant experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Continuing Airworthiness.
- Technical expertise and experience with the P8 and/or Boeing 737 aircraft.
- Understanding and application of UK Military Aviation Regulations (MRP Part M & Part 145) and UK MoD Airworthiness Policies.
- Experience in aircraft operations environments and safety standards.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in planning and executing tasks.
- Engagement with internal and external stakeholders to identify and resolve challenges.
- Proven capability to enhance internal and external processes.
- Strong communication and diplomatic skills.
- Eligibility to obtain UK Security clearance.
The selected candidate will engage significantly with UK MOD and Boeing interfaces.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Prior UK Military Service CAMO experience.
- Experience in Airworthiness Assurance auditing.
- Technical knowledge of the P8 aircraft.
- Experience with other large airliner-type aircraft.
- Familiarity with GOLDesp and GOLD MRO Maintenance Management Systems.
- Knowledge of UK MoD Form 700 Series and Engineering Record Cards (ERCs).
- Ability to support aircraft Occurrences Safety Investigations.
- Understanding of UK Aviation Delivery Duty Holder (DDH) requirements.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, including AS9100.
- UK Professional Registration (Incorporated Engineer or higher) or equivalent.
Note: Relocation is not available for this position.
Security Clearance: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a SECURITY CHECK/CLEARANCE.
Travel Requirements: UK travel: 5% of the time.
