Main Responsibilities:- Deliver patient care in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) guidelines and professional standards.
- Conduct holistic assessments of patients using evidence-based tools to determine their mental health needs.
- Develop comprehensive care plans that reflect patient needs, with interventions aimed at managing mental health risks and treatments.
- Implement skilled nursing interventions based on the agreed care plan, while continuously evaluating and updating it to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Administer prescribed medical treatments in compliance with professional, legal, and local policies.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, contributing to care plans, and participating in meetings to ensure coordinated care delivery.
- Empower patients by promoting choice and self-advocacy within the constraints of legal and risk management frameworks.
- Promote effective teamwork and communication within the department.
- Encourage collaboration with external agencies to support seamless care for patients.
- Actively participate in multi-agency care discussions and foster cooperative working relationships.
- Supervise and support junior staff in their roles, ensuring their ongoing development and competence.
- Assist in identifying staff training needs and support their professional growth through formal and informal teaching opportunities.
- Registered Mental Health Nursing Certificate (RMN) or Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD).
- Strong skills in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
