We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced medical professional to join our team as a Medical Director - Older People's Mental Health at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust. This is a full-time, permanent position that will play a crucial role in supporting our Stockport service.
Main Responsibilities- Provide consistent and experienced medical input to the Stockport mental health services.
- Conduct assessments and management of new referrals and follow-up outpatient appointments and inpatient work.
- Work alongside a sector consultant psychiatrist and one senior trainee.
- MBBS or equivalent qualification.
- Section 12 approval or willingness to seek approval.
- Minimum of 2 years in Psychiatry.
- Experience relevant to modern community-oriented adult psychiatry.
- Experience of teaching and training.
- Essential criteria:
- MBChB or equivalent qualification.
- Section 12 approval or a willingness to seek approval.
- Desirable criteria:
- MRCPsych or equivalent qualification.
- Registered as completed Higher Training with the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
- Progress towards additional Postgraduate Degree, such as MSc or MD.
- Essential criteria:
- Good interpersonal and team-working skills.
- Leadership skills.
- Knowledge of relevant requirements and legislation, such as the Mental Health Act, Care Programme Approach, etc.
- Desirable criteria:
- An additional area of relevant special interest.
- Actively involved in continuing professional development.
- Essential criteria:
- A minimum of 4 years in Psychiatry at CT, ST, or Staff Grade level.
- At least 2 years of these should be in general adult psychiatry.
- Experience relevant to modern community-oriented adult psychiatry.
- Experience of teaching and training.
- Desirable criteria:
- Experience of management.
- Experience of service development and planning.
- Experience of Forensic or Intensive Care services.
- Worked for a total of 10 years since primary qualification (which is acceptable by GMC for full/limited or temporary registration).
- Essential criteria:
- Flexible and able to adapt.
- Enthusiastic and willing to contribute to the running of the department in a forward-thinking can-do attitude.
- Desirable criteria:
- Demonstrated initiative and innovation.
- Further personal professional development.
