We are currently seeking a General Ledger Accountant to contribute to our operations based in London (UK)
Role Overview
This role entails overseeing all accounting functions for one of our brands, which encompasses operations across the UK and EU, including countries such as France, Germany, and the Netherlands. This includes managing all statutory and fiscal responsibilities associated with these operations.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary duties will include:
- Executing General Ledger entries.
- Conducting account reconciliations.
- Managing correspondence from local authorities.
- Reviewing accounting accruals.
- Performing Lease Accounting entries and reconciliations.
- Processing payroll entries in operational countries.
- Preparing statutory accounts and fulfilling audit requirements.
- Handling tax preparation for the brand's entities.
- Managing tax payments and reconciliations.
- Reconciling VAT declarations and SAP VAT (Local & USGAAP calendar).
- Collaborating with external consultants.
- Setting up GL and maintaining the chart of accounts.
Qualifications for Success
The following qualifications are essential for success in this role:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in UK accounting.
- Qualifications: ACCA or a comparable accounting certification.
- Experience: A minimum of 4-5 years in a similar position, specifically managing UK accounts.
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in written and spoken English; proficiency in an additional European language is advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Organizational Skills: Proven ability to independently plan and manage tasks while adapting to changing priorities.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities.
