Role Overview:

We are on the lookout for a highly proficient Lead Platform Engineer to become a vital part of our Platform Engineering team. This position plays a key role in shaping the technical direction, development, and management of our platform infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in DevOps methodologies, cloud services (AWS, GCP), event-driven architecture utilizing Kafka, infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible), and container orchestration with Kubernetes. This position emphasizes technical acumen, thought leadership, and innovation, without the burden of management duties.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Guidance: Act as a technical authority and mentor within the Platform Engineering team. Lead the design, development, and upkeep of scalable, secure, and dependable platform infrastructure. Enforce best practices for infrastructure as code utilizing Terraform and Ansible. Advocate for the use of Kubernetes for container orchestration and management. Cloud Proficiency: Offer expert advice on leveraging AWS and GCP for cloud-native solutions. Design and oversee cloud infrastructure to meet business demands and expansion. Enhance cloud resource utilization and ensure cost-effectiveness. Event-Driven Architecture: Develop and manage event-driven architectures using Kafka. Ensure robust data streaming and processing capabilities to support various business functions. Prototyping and Innovation: Create prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate new technologies and methodologies. Lead technical exploration and experimentation to foster innovation within the platform. Assess emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously enhance platform capabilities. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with product development teams to comprehend their needs and deliver solutions that boost their productivity and efficiency. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of platform services. Convey technical initiatives and progress to stakeholders. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends. Propel continuous improvement initiatives to enhance platform reliability, performance, and scalability. Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues.

Desired Qualifications:

Profound expertise in AWS and GCP cloud platforms. Strong knowledge of Kubernetes for container orchestration. Extensive experience with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure as code. Familiarity with event-driven architecture and Kafka. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Strategic thinking ability, providing practical solutions, and making sound decisions in complex and evolving product and customer journey environments. Strong leadership capabilities, including the ability to build and motivate teams, manage change, hold individuals accountable, and foster a culture of customer and product focus.
