Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an After School Club Assistant to support the daily running of our Holiday Club. The successful candidate will work closely with the Supervisor to ensure the smooth operation of the club, providing a fun and stimulating environment for children aged 4-11.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning and delivering activities for children, promoting creativity and engagement.
  • Supervise children during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Meet and greet parents, providing feedback on their child's experience at the club.
  • Assist with setting up and clearing away equipment, maintaining a safe and organized environment.
  • Support the Supervisor in managing the club's daily operations, including staff supervision and child care.
  • Contribute to generating ideas for daily activities, promoting a fun and engaging atmosphere.
  • Monitor the condition of activity equipment, reporting any issues to the Supervisor.
  • Provide personal care for children in attendance, as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in an out-of-hours school setting.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team, providing support and assistance as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to converse with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work varied hours and respond to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Working Arrangements:

The successful candidate will work on a casual basis, with hours to be agreed in advance. The club operates during school holidays, with a typical working day from 9:30am to 3:15pm. We are seeking staff who can commit to full days, but flexibility is essential.
