Project Cost Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Cost Accountant to join our team at Hays PLC. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining and producing the orderbook, forecasting revenue, and reviewing WIP and accrued revenue schedules.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining and Producing the Orderbook: Update orderbook files with year-to-date values for revenue and cost of sales, and add new projects while removing completed ones.
  • Revenue Forecasting: Provide a revenue forecast for capital works projects, taking into account remaining budgeted revenue and contract balances.
  • Exception Reporting: Identify projects with gross margins below expectations or revenue discrepancies, and investigate with project managers to distinguish between timing differences and errors.
