As a key member of this team, you will work closely with other service team leaders and the manager to develop and ensure the effective delivery and future planning of Housing Enforcement for the private rented sector.

The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Leader to join our Housing Enforcement, Regulatory Services team. In this strategic role, you will lead and manage a team of principal enforcement officers, enforcement officers, and support staff within the Housing Enforcement Service. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with service team leaders and the manager to strategically develop and implement Housing Enforcement initiatives.
  • Leading and managing a team to provide a regulatory service that protects the community, adhering to relevant legislation and Council procedures.
  • Driving the delivery of performance targets within Regulatory Services, contributing to the achievement of broader council objectives.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant degree in an appropriate discipline or an equivalent academic or professional qualification.
  • Ongoing professional and managerial development.
  • Sound experience of working in a partnership environment.
  • Current or recent experience working in a Private Sector Housing Enforcement team, including property licensing.
  • Proven experience in leading, developing, and monitoring the performance of staff involved in partnership working.
  • Strong background in policy development, strategic planning, and implementation within a partnership context.
  • Expertise in applying and interpreting research methodology and advanced methods of statistical analysis, with the ability to present complex statistical information to diverse audiences.
