Position Overview:
Matchtech is seeking a dedicated Water Hygiene Service Engineer to join our esteemed client in the water technology sector.
Location:
This is a field-based role primarily serving the Northwest region.
Employment Type:
Permanent, Full-time, 37 hours per week. The position includes a company vehicle and fuel card, along with a comprehensive pension scheme.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Water Hygiene Service Engineer, you will be instrumental in conducting water hygiene service visits and performing essential tasks, including:
- Temperature monitoring and water sampling.
- Conducting shower cleaning and disinfection (C+D).
- Servicing thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs).
- Cleaning and disinfecting cold water storage tanks.
- Cleaning and disinfecting cooling towers.
Compliance and Reporting:
Your role will involve ensuring that client sites receive the necessary water hygiene services and adhere to all relevant industry standards and health and safety regulations. You will be responsible for:
- Completing field documentation and reports using ZetaSafe, Word, and Excel.
- Circulating reports to the appropriate stakeholders within specified timeframes.
- Making proactive recommendations for system improvements to clients and account managers.
Inventory Management:
You will maintain an inventory of essential tools and spare parts required for water hygiene tasks.
Safety and Knowledge:
It is crucial to report any accidents, incidents, or near misses in line with company or client policies. Additionally, you will be expected to:
- Stay updated on water industry knowledge.
- Conduct general water hygiene temperature monitoring.
- Inspect cold water storage tanks and provide findings with recommendations.
- Perform servicing of thermostatic mixing valves.
- Record results and set up new customer sites using the Zeta mobile application.
- Collaborate with the Water Hygiene Supervisor on technical matters.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have experience in Legionella control services, including:
- Temperature monitoring of hot and cold water systems.
- Inspection and cleaning of cold water tanks.
- Disinfection techniques for cold water storage tanks, calorifiers, showers, and TMV servicing.
A full UK driving licence is required. Knowledge of Legionella Awareness training, ACoP L8, HSG274, and TMV servicing is desirable. Familiarity with reading Legionella Risk Assessments is also beneficial.
