Sheffield, Sheffield, United Kingdom Finsbury Food Group Full time

Location: Nicholas & Harris, Brunel Road, Churchfields Industrial Estate, Salisbury, SP2 7PU

Shift: Monday to Friday – 24/7 Flexibility When Required

Salary: Competitive with Opportunities for Growth

We are thrilled to present an exceptional opportunity within our Technical Team for the role of Quality Assurance Lead at our Nicholas & Harris facility, part of the esteemed Finsbury Food Group. With a rich legacy of over 180 years in artisanal baking, our bakery is dedicated to providing a diverse range of organic and specialty breads.

As a forward-thinking employer, we offer the flexibility of occasional remote work. Given our operational nature, the ability to work weekends and nights as needed is essential.

To excel in this position, prior experience in leading and managing sizable teams is crucial, preferably in a fast-paced consumer goods environment. A proactive attitude and a commitment to upholding the highest quality standards are vital to ensure we consistently deliver our renowned products to major retail partners.

Key Responsibilities:

In the role of Quality Assurance Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Quality Assurance Team, focusing on quality, food safety, and compliance. Your primary goal will be to ensure that product and quality standards are consistently met. You will lead product quality evaluation panels, analyze trends, and implement corrective actions to enhance quality benchmarks.

This position operates in a dynamic environment, where you will engage in continuous improvement initiatives to elevate product quality and support the broader technical agenda. Additionally, you will play a key role in facilitating customer and third-party audits.

A strong presence on the factory floor is necessary to uphold standards and foster improvements. You will need to possess strong leadership skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams to prioritize quality.

The role involves managing multiple customer demands simultaneously, translating these into actionable performance metrics for the QA Team, and guiding the Operations Team to take ownership of product quality.

This position is highly dynamic, offering opportunities to influence product quality and operational standards, making it an ideal stepping stone towards Technical Management or Operations roles.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proactive and energetic approach
  • Positive mindset with a focus on quality
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards
  • Ethical approach to business practices
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication
  • Self-motivated and driven
  • Team-oriented with a customer-centric focus
  • Inquisitive and analytical mindset
  • Collaborative spirit to unite teams towards common objectives
  • Level 3 Food Safety & HACCP certification
  • HND Degree in Food Science or a related field

Benefits:

  • Enhanced Maternity & Paternity Leave for quality family time
  • Comprehensive Pension Scheme
  • Death in Service Benefit
  • Free Employee Assistance Programme for staff and families
  • Retail discounts available through our Benefits Hub
  • Refer a Friend Scheme with financial incentives
  • Employee Recognition Awards
  • Extensive Learning & Development opportunities, including sponsored professional memberships
  • A chance to be part of a thriving organization committed to excellence

Our vision is to lead the specialty bakery sector in the UK, and we are dedicated to fostering a talented workforce to achieve this goal. Employee development is a priority, as we value each team member's contributions and aim to equip everyone with the skills necessary to reach both personal and organizational objectives.

If you resonate with our values and are eager to contribute to our success, we encourage you to explore this opportunity further.
