About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join our team at MKM Building Supplies. As an HR Advisor, you will play a key role in providing commercially focused HR advice to our Branch Directors and Central Support Managers, ensuring they have the necessary support to manage the full employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert HR advice on a range of topics, including Grievance, Disciplinary, Settlement, Structuring, and Redundancy.
  • Manage a complex Employee Relations (ER) workload, including investigating and resolving ER cases.
  • Coach and guide managers on all aspects of people management, including performance management, talent development, and employee engagement.
  • Work closely with our Occupational Health providers to ensure employees receive the necessary support and guidance.
  • Manage external whistleblowing services, investigating or allocating cases as appropriate.
  • Manage long-term sickness cases, ensuring individual cases progress as appropriate.
  • Participate in HR projects, including the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • CIPD qualified to level 5 minimum or equivalent.
  • Experience managing a range of ER queries with little support or assistance.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of employment law and the ability to interpret and apply to a variety of situations.
  • Experience of managing projects.
  • Able and willing to own cases from administration, organisation, and advice through to conclusion.
