Application Reliability Engineer at Discover

As an **Application Reliability Engineer** with Discover, you will be instrumental in maintaining the stability and efficiency of our services. In a **collaborative Agile setting**, your focus will be on improving infrastructure, automation, and overall operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate, design, and implement new features adhering to high quality standards
  • Offer mentorship and support to junior engineers
  • Facilitate technology communities and influence design choices
  • Address issues and create proactive solutions
  • Participate in High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and Resiliency testing
  • Employ DevOps methodologies for continuous integration and deployment
  • Expertise in monitoring and diagnosing distributed systems
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Unix and Bash scripting
  • Background in performance engineering and production support
  • Programming experience in Python or Java
  • Experience with system monitoring, alerting, and analysis
  • Proficient in tools such as Openshift, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Jenkins, and others
