Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Team Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the assembly operations while ensuring that the production team adheres to the customer-oriented production schedule. This role collaborates with the Planning and Inventory teams to guarantee that all necessary components are available for the production team to fulfill customer requirements efficiently. The supervisor monitors daily downtime reports and partners with management to implement lean manufacturing principles and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Working Schedule: Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4:30pm and Friday 7:30am to 12:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership Duties (up to 20% Focus)

  • Ensure the safety of all team members by enforcing PPE protocols and safe work practices.
  • Facilitate daily team meetings to encourage participation in continuous improvement efforts and address throughput challenges.
  • Inspire and motivate team members while conducting performance reviews and one-on-one meetings.
  • Clearly communicate team objectives and efficiently allocate resources.
  • Regularly update team members on goals and operational changes.
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of new employees, providing performance feedback.
  • Develop strategies to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Conduct return-to-work interviews and manage disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Oversee the health and safety standards within the work area, including risk assessments and training requirements.
  • Act as Fire Marshal for the team, ensuring awareness of safety protocols and evacuation procedures.

Operational Duties (80% Focus)

  • Manage workflow within the team to meet daily production goals and promptly address any issues impacting output.
  • Report production flow challenges to relevant teams, prioritizing same-day resolutions.
  • Lead daily performance review meetings to assess production against targets and initiate corrective actions.
  • Engage in cross-team meetings to evaluate overall production performance and communicate essential information.
  • Contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives, including layout optimization and process time analysis.
  • Participate in product assembly while adhering to established guidelines for efficiency.
  • Maintain records of cross-training and implement training plans as directed by management.
  • Ensure compliance with holiday policies and manage time allocated for non-production activities.
  • Monitor workplace organization and cleanliness through 5S practices.
  • Be available for occasional overtime to facilitate joint meetings across shifts.
