About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Esland SEN School in Ditton Priors. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to access our broad, balanced, and fun curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside our class teachers to support students with SEMH needs
  • Assist students to access the curriculum and develop their skills of independence
  • Support students with challenging behaviors using trauma-informed practices and positive mental health promotion
  • Be a team player and a strong advocate for change, progression, and continuous school improvement
Requirements
  • Appropriate knowledge of first aid
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults
  • Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities
  • Knowledge of National Curriculum requirements
  • Effective use of ICT to support learning
  • Understanding of relevant policies and legislation
  • Basic understanding of child development and learning
