We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Nurse Leader to join our dynamic Emergency Department team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the smooth operation of the department.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing care to patients within your scope of practice, ensuring the highest standards of care and compassion.
- Take charge of specific areas of the department or as a whole, working closely with the band 7 team and professional development training team to ensure seamless operations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures, ensuring they align with Trust values and objectives.
- Lead and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their full potential.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- NMC Registered Nurse PIN
Experience
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in an Emergency Department as a band 5 nurse.
- Extended clinical skills relevant to Emergency Department nursing.
- NMC recognised Mentorship qualification or willingness to work towards within 18 months of commencement.
- Understanding of policies and legislation relevant to the ED.
Desirable
- Teaching and Assessing Qualification
- Advance life support trained.
- Trauma Course.
- Experience of managing a team.
