Quality Assurance Inspector

We are currently seeking a

Quality Assurance Inspector – Manufacturing Facility

to become a part of our dedicated team focused on delivering excellence. Our manufacturing facility operates multiple production lines, creating high-quality components for the marine industry and various naval forces worldwide.

This is a permanent position, with a primary focus on the following responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of products at different stages of the manufacturing process, including final assessments.
  • Document and report any non-conformities in line with established protocols.
  • Undertake additional tasks or special projects as assigned.
  • Interpret and analyze technical drawings and related documents, such as Purchase Orders and Concessions.
  • Communicate effectively with the Quality Assurance department and management regarding any unusual quality control issues.
  • Ensure compliance with current procedures and specifications while releasing components to various departments.
  • Gather and maintain traceability information to support Quality Assurance documentation and audits.
  • Apply problem-solving techniques to assist in root cause analysis and investigations.
  • Exhibit flexibility in performing a variety of tasks safely and accurately, contributing to our On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery goals.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within the Logistics Team.
  • Uphold a safe working environment and maintain high standards of cleanliness.

Development Responsibilities:

  • Possess a solid understanding of Quality System Regulations and International Standards.
  • Utilize various inspection tools, including calipers and micrometers, to verify compliance with manufacturing specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality Control Inspectors, Project Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to ensure adherence to process documentation.
  • Ensure that in-process inspections align with engineering specifications throughout production.
  • Perform mechanical, visual, and dimensional inspections using appropriate hand tools.
  • Potentially engage in CMM Programming and Inspection, depending on prior training and experience.
  • Liaise with Supply Quality Assurance Engineers regarding quality concerns.
  • Accurately label storage containers and manage inventory transactions within the system.
  • Work from engineering drawings for visual and dimensional inspections of products using measuring instruments.
  • Undertake any additional duties as required.
  • Communicate proactively with operational teams to ensure timely actions are taken to meet OTIF objectives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to processes and procedures.
  • Execute all tasks in a safe manner, adhering to health and safety protocols.

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Experience in inspecting mechanical and electrical components.
  • Proficiency with basic mechanical inspection tools.
  • Familiarity with dimensional inspection hand tools.
  • Knowledge of FDA and GMP standards.
  • Understanding of ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 standards.
  • A background in production or engineering environments is essential.
  • Awareness of health and safety procedures.
  • Mechanical and assembly aptitude.
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings.
  • A minimum of 5 years of mechanical inspection experience is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills with colleagues.
  • Flexibility to work across various Logistics Operations teams.
  • Safety consciousness.
  • Ideally, an educational background at the college level, mechanical apprenticeship, or substantial experience in the manufacturing sector.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software packages (Microsoft / MRP systems).
  • Good knowledge and understanding of SAP.
