Charlton, Greater London, United Kingdom Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

This role represents a pivotal leadership opportunity within the Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust's ADAPT (Anxiety, Depression, Personality Disorder and Trauma) Secondary Care team. You will collaborate with a diverse group of professionals, including psychologists, psychotherapists, and CBT therapists.

Our current primary interventions are predominantly group-based, encompassing both short and long-term approaches such as Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Psychotherapy, alongside a team-oriented approach known as Structured Clinical Management (SCM). We are also in the process of expanding our Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) services.

We aim to establish a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) service in the near future, and the successful candidate will take on the role of Clinical Lead for this initiative. Experience in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy or DBT is preferred but not mandatory. The Clinical Lead will oversee the development and assessment of this pilot DBT service.

Additionally, the role involves supporting the consultant clinical psychologist in managing treatment response times, ensuring an 18-week timeline from referral to treatment, while also maintaining a clinical caseload.

There will be further leadership opportunities, including representing the ADAPT psychology team in various business meetings.

Key Responsibilities

- Serve as the clinical lead in the creation, implementation, and evaluation of a pilot DBT service.

- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to provide a psychologically informed perspective during clinical discussions.

- Assist the consultant clinical psychologist in managing treatment response times.

- Provide clinical supervision and reflective practice as necessary.

- Conduct psychological assessments, report writing, and interventions across diverse client groups.

- Oversee the delivery and enhancement of the service's group program, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care is provided promptly.
