Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Central Norwich. As a key member of our team, you will work with children, young people, and their families to provide consultation, training, mental health assessment, and short-term therapeutic interventions.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing mental health assessments and goal-focussed, evidence-based interventions to young people experiencing difficulties with their mental health.
  • Participating in the Duty Clinician rota for urgent response and having their own caseload.
  • Working collaboratively with young people and their families to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Contributing to the development of the CAMHS service, including the review of ways of working to ensure services are needs-led, outcome-informed, and accessible.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A nursing degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of working in a mental health setting, with a focus on child and adolescent mental health.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and patients.
  • A willingness to train and develop new skills, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
