Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Systems Maintenance Engineer to become an integral part of our team, operating across various locations in the UK. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing both electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks related to plant, equipment, and building services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and mitigate risks associated with on-site equipment, including the identification of critical spare parts.
• Enhance the performance of plant and equipment while managing environmental conditions through the Building Management System (BMS).
• Conduct fault diagnosis on a variety of HVAC systems, with a focus on Variable Refrigerant Volume air conditioning units.
• Act as the Energy Champion and support the Safety Champion role for the site.
• Provide electrical and mechanical expertise to the maintenance team.
• Develop and adhere to Risk Assessments, addressing any arising issues safely and accurately.
• Utilize mobile devices to efficiently project and complete tasks via the Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system.
• Collaborate with the on-site Supervisor and Account Manager to resolve any building services-related concerns, ensuring accurate and confident responses.
Leadership and Supervision:
• Assume responsibility for the team when necessary and act as a deputy for the site supervisor during periods of absence.
• Be prepared to work overtime, including nights and weekends, as business needs dictate.
• Oversee and manage subcontractors effectively.
On-Call Duties:
• Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency response outside of regular working hours.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in HVAC maintenance is essential.
• Mechanical competencies and qualifications that meet City and Guild's standards.
• Strong multi-skilled capabilities.
• Ability to supervise contractors effectively.
• Proficient in completing Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
• Certifications such as IPAF and PASMA are advantageous.
• Familiarity with HVAC controls is required.
