Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at a well-established Electronics Manufacturer in Poole, Dorset. The company has a proud history of 50 years in the acoustic ancillary, connector, cable, and microphone fields, with contracts with major manufacturers in France, Germany, and Spain.
Job SummaryThis is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical Design Engineer in Poole. The successful candidate will be responsible for mechanical engineering, design of small enclosures for audio products, improving existing products, and liaising with customers and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks 3D CAD software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product design and development.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers to ensure product requirements are met.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and design practices.
- Experience with SolidWorks 3D CAD software.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of military cable/connector construction/specs.
- Knowledge of ATEX and product design standards including EMC and safety, CE, UKCA compliance.
- Experience of designing for industrial & military environments.
- Knowledge of ISO9001:2015 QMS standard.
- Competitive salary: £34,000 to £43,000 per annum DOE + Profit related Bonuses.
- 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday.
