About the Role

Janes Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Lead Subject Matter Expert - UGV Technology. As a key member of our Land Warfare team, you will be responsible for becoming the lead subject matter expert on Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) technology, authoring insight and analysis, and tracking the emergence and development of new technology in this sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Challenge extant content to ensure improved granularity, coverage, and quality of Janes UGV profiles.
  • Author news stories and features, bespoke and regular analyses, consulting studies, and customer briefings on the subject of UGV technologies.
  • Work closely with other Land Warfare SMEs to peer review their products and deliverables, as well as collaborate on shared research projects as required.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of military technology, particularly unmanned vehicles, autonomy, and AI, sensors, and communications.
  • Communicate complex and technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders through high-quality written English.
  • Take initiative and ownership of a young but important product and subject to create a world-leading content set.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in war studies, international relations, history, engineering, or a peripherally relevant discipline.
  • Relevant work experience, including military service, in lieu of formal educational qualifications.
  • Good understanding of military technology, particularly unmanned vehicles, autonomy, and AI, sensors, and communications.
  • High standard of written English with demonstrable ability to communicate complex and technical concepts.
  • Willingness to work independently and take initiative.
