Brio Digital is collaborating with a prominent player in the financial services industry, focusing on enhancing their mobile engineering capabilities.

We are in search of a seasoned Android application developer to assist in the development of their mobile retail banking platform.

Position Overview:

  • Title: Senior Android Developer
  • Compensation: £85,000-£100,000
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days per week in the office)

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Android Developer:

  • Architect, develop, and sustain high-quality Android applications tailored for the banking sector.
  • Engage with product managers, designers, and backend developers to create cohesive user experiences.
  • Write and uphold secure, efficient, and scalable code utilizing Kotlin or Java.
  • Integrate with backend services through RESTful APIs.
  • Guarantee application quality and performance via thorough testing and optimization.
  • Streamline and enhance the development workflow using CI/CD methodologies.
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in mobile development and financial applications.
  • Participate in all stages of the development lifecycle, from initial concept to final deployment.

Qualifications for the Senior Android Developer:

  • Expertise in Kotlin and/or Java programming languages.
  • In-depth understanding of the Android SDK and development tools.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and mobile application integration with backend systems.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or CircleCI.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices, especially for financial applications.
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with contemporary Android architectures (e.g., MVVM, Clean Architecture).
  • Understanding of mobile application security frameworks and best practices.
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks for Android (e.g., Espresso, JUnit).
  • Previous involvement in agile development settings.
