About the Role

Oxford Nanopore Technologies is a leading biotechnology company that is revolutionizing the field of genomics. We are headquartered in the UK and have a global presence with offices and partners across the world.

Our company is at the forefront of developing innovative technologies that enable the analysis of any living thing, by anyone, anywhere. We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines and related software infrastructure that enable reliable and trustworthy data sources for the company. This will involve working closely with data analysts and other software engineers to ensure data is transformed correctly in ETL/ELT pipelines.

The candidate will also be responsible for ensuring data systems are operating correctly, ensuring the timely delivery of data, and building data pipelines to other data-driven systems such as machine learning recommendation engines.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer who has a strong background in software engineering and data analysis. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of good software development practices, experience with data analysis and machine learning techniques, and a good understanding of software engineering principles.

The candidate will also have experience with SQL, Python, and Pandas, and will be comfortable working with AWS infrastructure, MongoDB, and Terraform.
