We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in supporting the manager in the day-to-day running of the service, which provides a safe and nurturing environment for young people between the ages of 12-18.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead by example and support the management team to run the shift
  • Mentor and support newer staff members to ensure they have the skills and confidence to provide high-quality care
  • Encourage young people to take responsibility for their own lives, depending on their age and ability
  • Maintain a homely and friendly culture and environment in the homes
  • Deal with challenging behaviors in a safe and sympathetic manner
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being
  • Maintain a safe environment for the young people
  • Ensure the safety of the students and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's care plan, guidelines, reward system, and preferred method of communication
Requirements
  • NVQ or QCF Level 3 / Level 4 in Children and Young People is ESSENTIAL
  • 2 years experience in a residential children's home environment is ESSENTIAL
  • A full Driving Licence is ESSENTIAL as you may be required to transport the children from time to time
