Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stroke Physician to join our dynamic team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our stroke service, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with acute stroke and transient ischemic attack (TIA).

About the Role

The successful candidate will participate in a rolling weekly one-in-four rota, which includes:

  • Care of HASU patients and acute stroke calls
  • Care of ASU patients
  • TIA clinics Monday to Friday
  • Outpatients clinics
  • Weekend work, including HASU ward rounds, TIA clinic, and ward reviews

The successful applicant will also be expected to join a rota to provide weekend and bank holiday Stroke Unit ward rounds and assessment of high-risk TIA referrals.

Programmed Activities

This is a 10 PA contract based on the recommendations from the BMA. The contract is split into PAs for direct clinical care and supporting professional activities.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will be GMC registered and have inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Stroke or within six months of expected date of CCT (or be eligible for entry onto these registers within 6 months of application).
