About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bid Manager to join our team at AECOM. As a key member of our Major Pursuits Team, you will play a critical role in guiding and collaborating with senior business leaders, technical teams, bid teams, and capture managers to deliver winning bids.

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a seasoned professional with a proven track record in bid management. You will be responsible for developing and executing winning bid strategies, managing bid teams, and ensuring the effective use of work-winning processes and tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute winning bid strategies, working closely with client account teams to gather intelligence and develop an understanding of capture and positioning activities.
  • Manage the delivery of bids, ensuring that all technical, work-winning, commercial, and marketing resources are mobilized as needed.
  • Work with the capture manager to identify and mobilize resources required to ensure the successful delivery of bids.
  • Ensure the effective use of work-winning processes and tools to optimize the opportunity of winning.
  • Engage early with marketing teams on campaigns to position AECOM with client key decision-makers for opportunities.
  • Coach and train bid teams in the creation of win strategies, writing, and pricing bids.
  • Manage legal and bid governance tasks, as well as Executive Boards in line with our pursuit process.
  • Actively plan and facilitate positioning and bidding meetings and workshops.
  • Manage the quality element of the bid, answer plan, and review sessions, providing a clear brief of the task to writers and contributors.
  • Manage the commercial element of the bid, facilitating relevant workshops such as pricing lessons learned and commercial challenge team reviews.
  • Manage and report on the bid budget.
  • Fully understand and communicate the project/framework scope and all bid document content to the bid team.
  • Manage the creation of a shared area, bid folder structure, RAG deliverables, and bid program.
  • Oversee the communication of regular progress updates and identified risks to delivering a winning bid.
Requirements
  • Several years' experience in bidding within the built environment.
  • Preferably degree-level educated (ideally English, Marketing, Business Studies).
  • Experience owning entire bid process.
  • Strong planning, bid management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication, articulate, and demonstrates strong interpersonal skills (i.e., verbal and written communications).
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, delivering high-quality work consistently against tight deadlines.
  • Confidence to liaise effectively with all levels of management, both internally and with clients/prospects. Able to build and maintain relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • APMP foundation accredited preferred.
