Job Summary
Norfolk County Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our award-winning communications team. As the Head of Communications and Public Affairs, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with the council's goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a communications strategy that engages stakeholders, promotes the council's brand, and builds relationships with key partners.
- Lead a team of communications professionals to deliver high-quality communications products and services.
- Provide strategic advice to the council's leadership team on communications and stakeholder engagement.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local media, community groups, and business leaders.
- Develop and implement a crisis communications plan to ensure the council is prepared to respond to any potential crises.
- Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communications campaigns and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience in communications and public affairs, with a strong track record of success in a similar role.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective communications strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
