Job Title: MPC Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled MPC Engineer to join our team at SMT GB. As an MPC Engineer, you will be responsible for effectively, competently, and safely carrying out machine preparation and inline inspection to the highest standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Carry out pre-delivery inspection and local preparation, including fitting of buckets, vandal guards, q-fits, radios, reverse cameras, and optional extras.
- Ensure all machines are checked as detailed on the Pre Delivery Inspection and extras sheet.
- Carry out work in line with time guides, highlighting additional work to the Supervisor where necessary.
- Install software updates as new versions are released.
- Accurately complete systems and paperwork.
- Complete Personal Digital Assistance inputs in real-time, providing comprehensive details of work undertaken.
- Ensure a smart and professional appearance, wearing appropriate work wear and Personal Protective Equipment, and maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area.
- Report defects in company tooling, use equipment in line with current test periods, and follow instructions/training.
- Maintain a sufficient personal toolkit to enable effective job completion.
- Operate within guidelines as laid down in the Health & Safety at Work Act and adhere to all COSHH regulations.
- Assist and coach colleagues with technical support where necessary.
- Be prepared to work with Trainees as a coach, mentor, and guide when required.
- Flexibility to work overtime as and when necessary.
- Attend relevant product or systems training courses, staying away from home where required, to ensure a high standard of competence required to efficiently complete workshop duties.
- Ensure the SMT GB premises are locked and secure on exiting the building, in line with key holding responsibilities.
- Work in accordance with SMT GB standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental care.
- Perform any other duties reasonably requested by your manager.
Requirements:

- Desirable: Hold a full driving license and good driving record.

- IT literacy – basic computer skills including ability to use email.
- High standards and attention to detail.
Education/Professional Qualifications:
- A formal engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural/HGV mechanics (i.e. NVQ 2/C&G).
- Relevant experience in the preparation and repair of heavy construction plant including hydraulics and electrics or Plant and Equipment.
- Desirable: Welding ability.
