Senior Air Quality and Permitting Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Air Quality and Permitting Specialist to join our team at Ramboll Group A/S. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, business development acumen, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills to enhance client and regulator relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare federal and state air permit application materials, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  2. Develop and quantify emissions estimates, including emission calculation spreadsheets and databases for stationary and mobile sources.
  3. Prepare and assist with the submission of Tier II and Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) reports, complying with the Emergency Planning Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA).
  4. Conduct air permitting/compliance regulatory reviews, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies for compliance.
  5. Prepare plans, reports, permit applications, and other project documents, leading technical evaluations of data.
  6. Use established methods to perform specific environmental engineering and scientific assignments, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  7. Provide regular and consistent communications to clients, regulators, and project staff on key issues and developments.
  8. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, sharing knowledge with colleagues and contributing to the advancement of Ramboll's safety culture.
  9. Collaborate with senior practitioners to advance Ramboll's brands and standing with external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering, with a background in environmental consulting.
  • 8-15 years of experience in the environmental consulting field, with a focus on air regulatory compliance, permitting, and dispersion modeling.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and industry standards, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of motivation and a team-oriented approach.
  • Occasional local travel (5-10%), as required.
