Camden Adult Community Learning offers educational opportunities throughout the borough in various community settings, including schools and libraries. Our objectives include:

Role Responsibilities
This position presents an excellent opportunity for a qualified Tutor to instruct Tai Chi for adult beginners in community venues. The courses are structured to run termly, typically consisting of 1.5 hours each week. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and planning courses, including course outlines, lesson plans, and engaging learning activities. Key responsibilities include assessing initial learner levels and setting achievable learning goals, enabling ongoing progress monitoring through formative assessments.
Compliance with the Service's Quality procedures, including RARPA requirements, is essential.
Candidate Requirements
To be eligible for this role, candidates must possess substantial experience in teaching non-accredited Tai Chi and Qigong courses for beginners in community environments. Proficiency in delivering classes online is also required.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with learners from varied backgrounds, reflecting the diversity of Camden's population. A strong commitment to promoting equality and celebrating diversity is essential. Experience in supporting individuals with physical or mental health challenges and learning disabilities is highly desirable.
Additionally, candidates should have a proven track record in planning and delivering classes tailored to learners with limited English proficiency, while meeting the Quality standards set by funders and the Service. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, and strong organizational abilities are necessary. Candidates should be adept at problem-solving and teamwork.
