Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide direct social work services to vulnerable citizens, adhering to statutory, national, and regional policies and guidelines.
  2. Work in partnership with colleagues, private and voluntary sector organizations, and health services to deliver an integrated response to meeting needs.

  12. Support citizens and their carers/families to actively participate in service development.
  13. Prepare for and contribute effectively to meetings, chairing meetings as required.
  14. Prepare written reports for various purposes, ensuring accuracy, coherence, and completeness.
  15. Attend team meetings and contribute to service development.
  16. Maintain a specific caseload of varied complexity.
  17. Apply research, theory, evidence-based practice, and problem-solving methodologies to achieve good outcomes for citizens.
  18. Maintain good recording practices, ensuring records are accurate, coherent, and up-to-date.
  19. Ensure casework is effectively planned and outcome-focused, with citizens, families, and carers fully represented.
  20. Complete tasks within timescales and respond to telephone, electronic, and written communications in a timely manner.
  21. Promote anti-discriminatory practices and act in a non-oppressive manner towards service users, carers, and colleagues.
  22. Provide a positive role model in relation to conduct within the workplace, including good workload and time management.
  23. Exercise responsibility under the Health and Safety at Work Act and respond promptly and robustly to these regulations.
  24. Assist with the duty system as needed and undertake backup duties on a regular basis.
  25. Transport/accompany citizens to appointments, as appropriate, following risk assessments.
Professional Development:
  1. Maintain professional registration and comply with post-registration training and learning requirements.
  2. Prepare for and participate in professional supervision and performance development reviews to support personal development and adherence to professional standards.
  3. Attend training and seminars to develop personal and professional expertise and disseminate knowledge and learning to colleagues as appropriate.
Corporate Responsibilities:
  1. Establish good working relationships internally and externally.
  2. Comply with the Authority's Policies and Procedures and report any inadequacies to Senior Officers.
  3. Participate actively in supporting the Authority's principles and practices of equality of opportunity as laid down within the Equalities Policy.
  4. Apply Health & Safety practices within daily operations, sharing responsibility for Health & Safety across the department, directorate, and Authority.
  5. Provide information for personnel, administrative, and payroll purposes.
  6. Undertake any other reasonable tasks, as determined by your Line Manager or Head of Service.
  7. Be aware of the Corporate Safeguarding Policy and report concerns in the appropriate manner and timescales.
