About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Team Leader to join our West Ealing LMD Team at Great Western Railway. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and presentation of our Class 387 fleet, ensuring that our trains are safe, efficient, and reliable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Control all movements within Cocklebury Sidings and undertake Light Maintenance Repairs and preparation of rolling stock in accordance with local agreements.
  • Ensure that rail vehicles are received from, and delivered to, the customer safely in an efficient, punctual, and economical manner.
  • Responsible for the safety and workload of the Technicians and Contractors.
  • Support Maintenance Control with technical advice/fault finding.
  • Communicate with the Signaller and Maintenance Control.
  • Fire Warden and First Aider.
Requirements
  • NVQ L3 or Equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Full Driving Licence.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern which will include weekends & nights.

Cocklebury Sidings is a short walk from Swindon Station and is a shared site with Network Rail's Jane Austin Training school. The depot consists of 4 sidings, which can accommodate 36 Class 387 vehicles.
