We are seeking an experienced Interim Facilities and Maintenance Officer to join our client, a Local Authority in central Essex. As a key member of the Facilities team, you will be responsible for managing maintenance projects, assessing reported issues, and working with contractors to deliver repairs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage reactive and planned maintenance projects on council-owned buildings and open spaces
  • Assess reported maintenance issues and proactively identify potential problems
  • Manage contractors to deliver repairs and work with the in-house team to deliver projects
  • Utilize strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, to track and manage maintenance activities
  • Operate a vehicle supplied by the company for use during working hours

Requirements

  • Experience working within a facilities or maintenance environment
  • Ability to manage projects independently
  • Experience managing contractors, with preference given to those with commercial property experience
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
  • Valid driving license and access to a vehicle
