About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Cyber Security team at UK Power Networks as a Cyber Security Solutions Engineer. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the security systems within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate security solution technologies and toolsets to ensure they meet the organisation's needs
  • Design, implement, and maintain security systems to protect UK Power Networks' data, network, and systems from cyber threats
  • Provide technical guidance to other security team professionals and partners
  • Work with the Cyber Security team to implement and improve the security infrastructure, systems, and services
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture, Technical Teams, IT Service Providers, Project, Innovation, and partners to ensure alignment with the company vision, values, and strategic goals
Requirements
  • Experience in cyber security, preferably in a security engineering or a security architecture role
  • Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions for multiple platforms
  • Proficient in using multiple security technologies, such as firewalls, end point protection, intrusion detection and prevention systems, vulnerability scanners, encryption software, VPNs, and SIEMs
  • Working knowledge of Cyber Essentials, ISO27001:2022, CSA Cloud Controls Matrix, NCSC CAF, and GDPR
  • Programming and scripting skills to automate security tasks, develop custom security scripts and tools, and perform security testing and analysis
  • Relevant certifications in cyber security, such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, SSCP, or CCSP
