Job Summary:

GSL Education is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sports Coach to join our team at a client Secondary School in York, North Yorkshire. As a Sports Coach, you will be responsible for providing high-quality physical education and sports activities to students, promoting their physical and emotional well-being, and supporting their academic development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a positive and supportive relationship with students to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Promote physical activity and sports participation to enhance students' physical and mental health.
  • Develop and implement engaging physical education programs that cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Provide guidance and support to students to help them develop essential life skills, such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to student learning and development.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to physical education and sports.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of physical education programs and make recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Hold a degree in Sport and Exercise Science or Physical Education or a related field.
  • Experience in coaching or teaching physical education to students aged 11-16 years old.
  • Knowledge of sports injury prevention, management, and rehabilitation techniques is essential.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to inspire and motivate students.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one through GSL Education.
