Job Advert Role Description
We are seeking to appoint a dedicated Wellness Coach to become part of our team at Stockton Hall Hospital. This facility serves as a medium secure environment for adult individuals (18 years and older) experiencing mental health challenges, personality disorders, and mild to moderate learning disabilities.
Reporting directly to the Lead Occupational Therapist, the successful candidate will collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the treatment and care of patients who require the secure environment of a medium secure unit.
The wellness coach will assist patients in participating in physical activities as a means to improve their overall physical and mental well-being. This role entails fostering therapeutic relationships with patients across both male and female wards, promoting the advantages of physical activity, and aiding them in making constructive lifestyle adjustments.
The individual will be accountable for ensuring patient safety during exercise sessions by implementing correct and safe exercise methodologies in both gym settings and group activities. This position demands exceptional written and verbal communication skills to accurately document patient progress in electronic medical records, provide detailed verbal updates to other clinical team members, and facilitate sports and exercise groups either on-site or within the community.
