About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Solicitor to join our team at Verastar Limited. As an Associate Solicitor, you will play a key role in supporting our General Counsel and Head of Regulatory Affairs in minimizing legal and regulatory risk and aligning with essential business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Support our legal and compliance teams in day-to-day legal and compliance workflow.
  • Assist the General Counsel and Head of Regulatory Affairs with various CoSec, data protection, and litigation matters.
  • Work with the legal team on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts and bespoke customer contracts.
  • Assist the compliance team in monitoring, summarizing, and submitting responses to regulatory documents.
  • Keep the team updated on legal developments and help the General Counsel share information/know-how with the business.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and business partner to key stakeholders within the business.

Requirements

  • A qualified solicitor with a strong academic record and several years post-qualification experience.
  • Relatable and positive experience of working in a fast-paced, constantly changing organization.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage a sizeable workload with the requisite organizational skills.
