About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Physiotherapist to join our team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. As a Paediatric Physiotherapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality physiotherapy services to children referred to our Community Paediatric Service Line.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive physiotherapy assessments and interventions for children with diverse presentations and complex needs.
  • Develop and deliver individualized management plans to meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Carry a clinical caseload within your own discipline, providing assessment and intervention in line with departmental pathways.
  • Hold responsibility for your own caseload and be responsible for the delivery of service, working without direct supervision from a more senior therapist.
  • Supervise, educate, and assess the performance of physiotherapy students and more junior staff.
  • Participate in safeguarding procedures and attend multi-agency meetings as necessary.
  • Manage clinical risk within your own caseload, including undertaking appropriate manual handling risk assessments.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical practice within the department.
Requirements
  • Proven knowledge of paediatric conditions requiring therapy input.
  • Proven knowledge of therapy input for children with developmental needs.
  • Awareness of multi-agency approach to children.
  • Proven knowledge of standardised assessments/outcome measures relevant for children.
  • Proven knowledge of clinical governance and risk.
  • Proven evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree or diploma in Physiotherapy.
  • HPC Registered Physiotherapist.
Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrate good communication skills with the ability to build working relationships with peers and multi-agency professionals.
  • Ability to problem-solve and demonstrate good clinical reasoning.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to move between therapy settings, including rural educational and home environments in a timely manner.
  • Basic IT skills.
