About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Stroke Medicine to join our team at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Department of Stroke Medicine, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our stroke services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert medical care to patients with stroke and transient ischaemic attack (TIA) in our hyper-acute, acute, and rehabilitation stroke services.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of our stroke service strategy, ensuring alignment with national guidelines and best practice.
  • Contribute to the education and training of junior medical staff, including medical students and junior doctors.
  • Engage in research and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care pathways and effective communication.

Requirements
  • Full and Specialist Registration with the GMC and a license to practice.
  • Higher specialist training leading to CCT or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR).
  • Experience in stroke medicine, with a strong understanding of all aspects of the specialty.
  • Demonstrable teaching and research skills, with evidence of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
