We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Pharmacy Support Worker to join our team at HMP Altcourse, a category B male prison located in the Fazakerley area of Liverpool.

As a Pharmacy Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to work across specialist areas, gaining valuable experience and contributing to the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality support to the supply, preparation, and assembly of medicines under the direction of the responsible Pharmacist.
  • Contribute to services such as medicine reconciliation, managing stock medicines, and transportation of medicines.
  • Support the safe and secure management of medicines, following policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Requirements:

  • Experience within a pharmacy environment (community or hospital-based) is desirable, but not essential.
  • Any healthcare experience is a bonus, for example, a care home or hospital.
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
  • Medicines handling experience is desirable, but not essential.
  • A hard worker, diligent, with a high attention to detail.
  • A keen interest in pharmacy work.
