Job Title: Engineering Project Lead

At Safran Seats, we are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Lead to join our team in Cwmbran, Wales. As a key member of our Technical Domain, you will be responsible for effective planning and execution of engineering projects to meet or exceed performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support the IPT in identifying project risk, mitigation actions, and contingency plans.
  2. Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with the Technical Functional teams.
  3. Track progress of project tasks across multi-functional engineering teams.
  4. Resolve schedule conflicts and develop technical solutions with inputs from the Technical Functional teams.
  5. Provide clear project status both internally and to the customer.
  6. Track performance against budget for NRC and RC.
  7. Manage large work packages across the group business units or with partners.
  8. Liaise with the customer to present technical solutions and their impact on programme schedule.
  9. Collate inputs to generate and maintain customer product specifications.
  10. Manage technical requirements relevant to your project scope through a systems engineering approach.
Requirements:
  1. HNC/HND within a related Engineering discipline is essential.
  2. Engineering Degree within an Aerospace related discipline is desirable.
  3. Previous experience managing multi-functional teams, including within a remote working setting.
  4. A good understanding of the certification framework within which the work is undertaken.
  5. Awareness of configuration management principles and change management processes.
  6. Experienced in preparation of business cases or bids for new programmes.
  7. Understanding of financial management within a new product development environment.
