Job Description

Job Summary

The Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinician to join our team in providing expert-level advice on prisoner healthcare and management needs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide medical support and advice to the establishment on prisoner healthcare and management needs.
  • Respond to medical emergencies as an emergency first responder, coordinating care and providing clinical leadership.
  • Administer medication in accordance with NMC guidelines and contribute to risk assessments of the in-possession policy.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical records on the clinical IT system.
  • Ensure that prisoners who require emergency transfer are assessed using the Medical Early Warning Score and provided with a comprehensive handover to paramedics.

Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse with extensive experience in healthcare management and clinical leadership.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of NMC guidelines and regulations.
