We are seeking a highly skilled Network Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at Infogain. As a Backbone Provisioning Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining our global backbone network, with a focus on both optical and IP technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Deployment: Design, deploy, and maintain global backbone network, including optical systems, IP routing, and switching infrastructure.
  • Network Capacity Planning: Work with internal stakeholders to understand network capacity requirements and develop plans to meet those needs.
  • Network Optimization: Implement network designs, configurations, and standards to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Collaborate with external vendors and partners to deploy network equipment and services.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, working with internal teams and external vendors as needed.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation of network designs, configurations, and procedures.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay up to date with industry developments and emerging technologies in both optical and IP networking.
  • On-Call Support: Participate in on-call rotation for network support and maintenance.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on both optical and IP technologies.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of optical networking principles, including WDM, DWDM, and optical switching. Experience with optical network design and deployment, including equipment from vendors such as Ciena, Infinera, and Cisco.
  • IP Networking: Strong understanding of IP networking protocols and architectures, including BGP, ISIS, and MPLS.
  • Network Management: Familiarity with network management systems and tools, such as SNMP, TL1, and XML.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
Nice to Have
  • Software-Defined Networking: Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and network automation tools.
  • Data Center Networking: Knowledge of data center networking and cloud computing architectures.
  • Network Security: Familiarity with network security principles and best practices.
  • Network Simulation: Experience with network simulation and modeling tools.
  • Certifications: Certifications in optical networking, such as CCNA-O or CCNP-O, and/or IP networking, such as CCNA or CCNP.
