Key Responsibilities:
- Support the management team in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring compliance with the Care Standards Act.
- Provide guidance and support to young people in developing life skills and education.
- Take the lead in setting standards and evaluating achievements, ensuring the highest quality of care.
- Protect young people from risks to their health, welfare, and development, both within and outside the home.
- Provide effective leadership and support to the team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Liaise with external agencies to ensure seamless support for young people.
- Oversee staff training and qualifications, ensuring the team is equipped to provide the best possible care.
- Manage the home's expenditure and petty cash, ensuring financial transparency and accountability.
- Ensure a safe environment through regular property checks, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Be aware of safeguarding at all times, taking proactive steps to prevent harm.
- Participate in the on-call rota when necessary, demonstrating a commitment to the well-being of young people.
Requirements:
- Minimum Level 3 in Children and Young People.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in a children's residential home sector.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a children's home senior role.
- Experience working with complex and emotional behavioral needs in young people.
- Understanding of the current Ofsted inspection framework.
- Knowledge of current governing legislation and procedures for caring for children.
- Ability to manage time and resources effectively.
Salary and Benefits:
£29,120 per annum, plus sleep-in payments.
