Children's Home Deputy Manager Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team at a Children's Home in Northamptonshire. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the management team in implementing the care and support plans for young people aged 8-16 with emotional and behavioral difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the management team in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring compliance with the Care Standards Act.
  • Provide guidance and support to young people in developing life skills and education.
  • Take the lead in setting standards and evaluating achievements, ensuring the highest quality of care.
  • Protect young people from risks to their health, welfare, and development, both within and outside the home.
  • Provide effective leadership and support to the team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with external agencies to ensure seamless support for young people.
  • Oversee staff training and qualifications, ensuring the team is equipped to provide the best possible care.
  • Manage the home's expenditure and petty cash, ensuring financial transparency and accountability.
  • Ensure a safe environment through regular property checks, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Be aware of safeguarding at all times, taking proactive steps to prevent harm.
  • Participate in the on-call rota when necessary, demonstrating a commitment to the well-being of young people.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 3 in Children and Young People.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a children's residential home sector.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a children's home senior role.
  • Experience working with complex and emotional behavioral needs in young people.
  • Understanding of the current Ofsted inspection framework.
  • Knowledge of current governing legislation and procedures for caring for children.
  • Ability to manage time and resources effectively.

Salary and Benefits:

£29,120 per annum, plus sleep-in payments.
